PUERTO MADRYN - PENINSULA VALDES

Location:

This city is on Gulf Nuevo in the province of Chubut. It has excellent hotel infrastructure and a strategic location to enter Peninsula Valdes through the isthmus of Ameghino.

Tourist attractions:
Península Valdés:
This unusual geographical accident is the natural habitat for numerous species. Depending on the time of the year we can see on the coast: whales, sea lions, sea elephants, birds, guanacos, dolphins, killer whales and penguins.
Pingüinera Punta Tombo:
This is the largest penguin reserve in South America and it shelters almost a million Magallanes penguins. We can learn about their lives and walk around their nests.
Highlighted:

FRANCA AUSTRAL WHALES:
These whales are almost 60 feet long and, between June and December each year, they come to the quiet waters of Gulf Nuevo to procreate. The calves are about 14 feet long at the time of their birth. After being hunted for years, these whales are in danger of extinction, with their population reduced in a 90%, to approximately 8,000 animals today.
