Quebrada
de Humahuaca:
This canyon is a dry area of amazing beauty and very rich
in cultural tradition, as can be seen in the villages around
it, from south to north: Bárcena, Volcán, Purmamarca
–with the mount of Seven Colors -, Maimará, Tilcara,
Perchel, Huacalera, Uquía, Humahuaca and Tres Cruces.
Because of the weather, the best time to visit is the winter,
when it is cool and dry.
Salinas Grandes:
Is the third largest salt mine in the world, after
Salar de Uyuni, in Bolivia, and Salar de Arizano, in Salta,
Argentina. During the rain season it is covered by a foot
of water, creating a turquoise landscape, the Chañi
behind and a highway crossing through.
