JUJUY

Location:

Jujuy is a province of Argentina, located northeast of the country. It borders east with the Andes, northwest with Bolivia, and east and south with Salta. Its landscape is mostly mountains. It goes up in height from east to west, being the southeast the lowest area in the San Francisco Valley. There are four regions in Jujuy: the sub-Andes mountains, the eastern Andes and the Puna.

Tourist attractions:
Quebrada de Humahuaca:
This canyon is a dry area of amazing beauty and very rich in cultural tradition, as can be seen in the villages around it, from south to north: Bárcena, Volcán, Purmamarca –with the mount of Seven Colors -, Maimará, Tilcara, Perchel, Huacalera, Uquía, Humahuaca and Tres Cruces. Because of the weather, the best time to visit is the winter, when it is cool and dry.
Salinas Grandes:
Is the third largest salt mine in the world, after Salar de Uyuni, in Bolivia, and Salar de Arizano, in Salta, Argentina. During the rain season it is covered by a foot of water, creating a turquoise landscape, the Chañi behind and a highway crossing through.
